As an undergraduate at Davidson College, I participated in a two-year humanities course, which gave me a good grounding in many humanities disciplines. I earned a B.A. in English there and went on to earn a master's in English from the University of Georgia. I started as a reference generalist at Clemson University in 1998 and was assigned English and communication studies a year later. This year, due to retirements and resignations, areas were added to my duties--in this case, performing arts and digital humanities. I'm more than a little overwhelmed by my additional responsibilities (I'm an "older" mom with two small children at home as well) and have scads of questions that I hope seasoned DH folks can answer.
